The Lighthouse, The Watchman

It was night time, dark all around. I felt the cold sand under my feet, I realised I was barefoot. To my left, I heard the waves crashing gently on the shore.

We were going somewhere. I saw His white robe ahead of me. He was walking at a steady pace onwards. His steps seemed to be in rhythm with the crashing of the waves on the shore, everything felt surreal.

It was dark out, but a light eminated from Him so that I could see ahead of me. I saw where He had walked on the sand. I carefully put my feet in His footsteps and followed after Him.

It was so quiet, only the gentle breaking of the waves on the shore made any noise. I kept walking in His footsteps. Then I heard His voice, He was praying. I listened closer, He was praying in a language I did not understand but somehow it was familiar. The knowledge dawned on me that He was praying for me, interceding on my behalf.

Then I noticed small flames where His feet had been. They just appeared, He was leaving tongues of fire behind. I kept following Him, stepping even on that flame that was upon the sand.

Finally we reached a place along the shore where a small fishing boat was anchored. We climbed on the boat and Jesus began to row. We continued not to speak. He glowed a warm light that illuminated everything around Him. It was dark and we were rowing out into the deep sea, but I felt no fear and I did not feel cold.

Eventually we approached another shore. On a small hill was a lighthouse. We got off the boat and I was led to the main door. Once we entered, we climbed up the stairs. At the top was a huge lamp typical of lighthouses. The side of the lighthouse facing the sea where we had come from was made of glass.

Jesus switchef on the lamp and shone it out through the glass onto the ocean.

“Watch and wait. Stand your guard and shine the light to those who cannot see that they are in danger. Always be alert, guide them to safety, that they may not crash upon the rocks. ”

I saw in the distance many ships approaching the shore. I felt the responsibility of keeping watch, I was intimidated, but I also knew that He had led me here. He would be my guide, He would never leave nor forsake me.

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:

Ezekiel 3:17 NKJV

I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:1‭-‬3 NKJV
