Hi everyone. Wow it has been a while since I wrote a personal blog. Things have been really hectic for me. God was taking me through a time of intense training. I have been reading, listening, learning, praying, worshiping and experiencing God almost daily. I have been receiving knowledge and wisdom and was being strengthened in my inner man. The process was consuming and intense, I really did not have time to write because I was so busy consuming. If you have ever gone through something like this you will know exactly what I mean.
God does not sleep, He is at work all the time through His Spirit within us, transforming us from glory to glory; taking us from grace to grace. When you encounter God you will be a changed person, and the process is a continously ongoing one.
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Cor 3: 18
Not only have I been fed in the spirit these past months, I have also been experiencing major spiritual warfare. I had some dreams where the enemy tried to bury me, under the ocean, in a grave…I would wake up and proclaim life over myself and cancel all the enemy’s plans against me. Brothers and sisters, there is such a thing as spiritual death, where your calling, your God-given talents are buried by the enemy in the spirit so that you are not operating in your ministry in the natural. Believe it! If you have a calling over your life proclaim: “I shall serve the Lord’s people as His anointed servant and not even the gates of hell shall prevail against me!” I
However, I thank God that he has been watching over me, He has commanded His angels over me.
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
Psalm 91: 11-13
I had a vision early this year whilst praying, where I saw myself walking along a path between really thick vegetation. At the end of the path I came to an open field with a lake just before me. I went to the water, bent down and I began to drink, the water was so refreshing, it tasted sweet and it was as if the water molecules were dancing around in my mouth. As I stood up I noticed a large angel standing next to me. He was dressed all in white and he appeared in the likeness of a man, but a very tall man. The angel told me that he had been sent to teach me how to fight and as he said this, he handed me a sword.
You can imagine all the thoughts that went through my mind at that moment. The angel was huge, a giant in fact and I am only 1,5 m tall. We went out onto an open field and we started to practice. Amazing!!!! This vision was followed by other visions where I was, alongside other soldiers, fighting a never-ending swarm of idols. There were idols of all kinds coming up against us: there were idols which looked like the elephants that are worshiped in the Hindu religion, there were idols which resembled statues that one often sees in the catholic religion, there were all sorts of frightening things that I will not make mention of here.
“These are the statutes and judgments which you shall be careful to observe in the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. 2 You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. 4 You shall not worship the Lord your God with such things.
Deutonoromy 12: 1-4
Friends, the warfare is REAL. When you start prophesying into people’s lives, when you evangelise and bring people to Christ, when you serve your fellow man…you are bringing light into the darkness, you are coming against the darkness offensively. It is a war. Train yourself, read the Word of God, there is NO OTHER sword that you will receive other than the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Without the Word, you have no weapon against the enemy.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Ephesiens 6: 17,18
When I started out my walk in the Spirit, I had no idea what spiritual warfare was. I learnt from a teaching that we can pray Psalm 144:1 as a proclamation: “Blessed be the Lord my Rock,Who trains my hands for war,And my fingers for battle—.”
So you could pray: “Lord please teach my hands how to fight, and train my fingers for battle.” The Lord is a good, good father who gives His children only good things. He will equip you, train you and battle with you so that you overcome, so that you take the land back from the enemy, it is your heritage, you are more than a conqueror.
For those currently in battle, I would encourage you to read the Psalms of David, especially Psalm 91.
