Why are so many Christians suffering from panic attacks, anxiety and fear? Gene Smith, deliverance minister, says he encounters the demon of fear in almost 95% of all deliverance cases and he warns about how fear can become a stronghold over a person’s life. This can be extremely crippling to that person. I have heard of people who suffer from such extreme anxiety, that they only work from home and order all their food and househod requirements completely online. This is slavery. There are so many strange and quirky fears and phobias nowadays, you cannot list them all. Jesus said that he came so that we could have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Living with fear is not living in freedom and abundance. Let us not allow the enemy to steal, kill or destroy our joy, our peace, our hope, our life.
Do you fear because your child is somewhere out there on the streets hanging out with the wrong crowd? Pray and trust in God.
Do you fear that your contract at work will not be renewed and you don’t know how you will pay all your bills? Pray and trust God.
Are you a saved Christian, but still live in fear of ending up in hell? The devil is a liar! Pray and hear the voice of God your Father.
Have you already buried one parent, the other is now sick and now you fear losing them too? Pray and trust God.
Sometimes, the situation around us won’t change, but being freed from fear positively affects how we react to the situation. This also frees us up to focus more on praying and intercessing over the situation, which allows God to MOVE. By breaking the shackles of fear, we can take back what the enemy stole from us, everything that has been preventing us from an abundant life. If you suspect that you have a stronghold of fear over your life, here are some verses that you could memorise or say out loud everyday in confidence and faith (Proclaim) . Please seek deliverance and set yourself free from Fear.
I got introduced to the power of proclamation by Derek Prince. In his book Prayers and Proclamations he talks about how proclaiming the word of God releases God’s power into that situation, crisis or need:
“A proclamation is a confession that is made aggressive. It is a word that speaks of spiritual warfare. It is releasing the authority of God’s Word into a situation, into your own life, your family, the life of your church, a political situation, or whatever it may be. There are countless situations that need to have the power of God released into them, and there is no more effective way to release the power of God than by proclamation.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
(I do not fear and I will not be dismayed; For you, my God are with me. You strengthen me, You help me and You will uphold me with Your righteous hand)
2 Timothy 1: 7 (NKJV)
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Psalm 34: 4 and 7
4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
7 The angel[a] of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
Romans 8: 15
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Isaiah 43: 1-2 NKJV
But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
Psalm 23: 1-6 NKJV
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Here are the lyrics to this amazing song against fear by Bethel Music. Have a listen, sing along and pray.
You unravel me, with a melody
You surround me with a song
Of deliverance, from my enemies
Till all my fears are gone
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
From my mothers womb
You have chosen me
Love has called my name
I’ve been born again, into your family
Your blood flows through my veins
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
All my fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me
So I could stand and sing
I am child of God
